Premier players Moeaki Toma and Logan Murphy have been rewarded for their hardwork and commitment this season with selection in the annual New Zealand Marist Colts tour. The side which features some of the best Under 21 talent across the New Zealand Marist Federation will tour the lower South Island playing four games against other Marist clubs in Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin and Invercargill.
Logan, a past pupil at Marlborough Boys High, arrived in Christchurch as a school leaver and played his first season of Colts rugby for Christchurch before joining the club. He played a further two seasons of Colts before stepping up to Premier rugby this season.
Moeaki played all his junior rugby at the club before heading off to high school at St Bedes. He rejoined the club as a Colt straight out of school. He debuted in our Premier side in 2016 and in this season's Plate final he celebrated his 25th senior game and was presented with his club blazer. Moeaki also represented Canterbury in last year's U20's squad.
The squad assembles on Friday 17th August. We wish Logan, Moeaki and their teammates good luck for a succesful tour.
