Jacques Steyn is set to secure his 100th cap when he steps out onto Edgar Mac tomorrow against University.
Jacques began his rugby career nearly 20 years ago as a Marist Albion junior. He returned to the club as a senior player and caught the eye of Division 1 Head Coach Chris Hay (Hubba). He was selected in the Division 1 side and made his debut in 2011 against Christchurch. Hubba soon recognised Jacques ability to be a valuable utility player covering number 8, blindside and lock.
Jacques notched up his 50th cap in 2014 and has grown to be a well respected member of our Premier team leading by example on and off the field. This occasion is a testament to Jacques' loyalty and commitment to our Premier team and our great club.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jacques on reaching this incredible milestone and extend an invitation to all to join us at the clubrooms this Saturday to celebrate.
