Dear Marist Albion Community, 

It is with great pride that as a club we celebrate the milestones of two players today who have joined us from one of our feeder schools, St Bede's College.  As a club we have traditionally had a strong relationship with St Bede's and the value driven players that the school produces fit well into our club. 

Michael Stewart 50 Games

Mike has been fortunate enough to make Canterbury teams (Under 20's and Canterbury  B) before heading South to play for Southland. After leaving the Stag's he has made a career of rugby all over the world including playing in the European Challenge Cup and the American Major League. When COVID 19 hit he wasn’t intent on hanging up the boots, but joined the boys back at his old club.  He has made a huge impact upon his return. He commented that he is now involved in some of the "most enjoyable rugby, with some of the best bunch of lads" that he has played with in years. 

Braiden Broughan 25 Games

Braiden's impact at Marist has been huge. Paddy Brand first met with Braiden about coming to Marist in 2018.  He was intent on making a mark and cementing a position at the club and he has certainly done this. Braiden is a player with huge potential. He is strong at scrum time and with ball in hand. Braiden debuted for the club in 2019 against Shirley at Christchurch Park. Since then Braiden has commented that he "has never looked back" and has "found Marist a very welcoming club".

It's a SOLD OUT Club Day at this weekend's Crusaders v Highlanders game! Keep an eye out for our mighty Marist Albion juniors who are lining up in the halftime "Fastest Club Relay Race".  6 runners from across the U7 to U12 age grades will compete in a relay for $1000 of Crusaders merchandise and a training session with the Crusaders.If you are in the crowd on Sunday, be seen in green and show your support for our club and our runners!
