PREMIER COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

Marist Albion Rugby Club are pleased to announce the Premier Coaching group for the 2023 Season.

Ian Robinson moves into a Director of Rugby Role which will see him work closely with the Premier Team and link closely with the Colts group to continue to develop the pathway for players within the club.

Ben Blair returns to the Premier Coaching Group after a year away and will look to continue the success of recent seasons. Ben brings a wealth of experience and will continue to develop the attacking identity of the playing group.

Robbie Harlow transitions from a player to coach and will take control of the defensive side of the game. Robbie compliments the coaching group with his easy-going man management style and his keen attention to detail.

Ross Kennedy completes the group. A Marist Albion stalwart, Ross brings his extensive knowledge of set piece and adds significant experience which will help the players to grow over the course of the season.

We are also excited to announce the appointment of Andre de Joux to lead the Colts programme for 2023. Andre hails from Timaru, where de Joux is a well-known family name in sport, and has shifted to Christchurch with his building and construction business. Andre comes with a strong coaching background and has a connection with Marist Albion through his coaching of Timaru Celtic, winning a championship with their Premier side. He has also coached South Canterbury A and has experience coaching junior players, coaching at both Roncalli College and TBHS. Andre mentions that he is excited by the opportunity and looks forward to working closely with the Premier coaches to ensure Marist Albion’s continual development of players and team performances.
